This 6-part webinar series, beginning February 28th, 2024, brings together researchers and practitioners from around the world to better understand how to make peace journalism more attractive to audiences. Stories about conflict and war mostly focus on violence and sensationalism which inflames passions and damages attempts to build peace, as research shows. However, news stories about peace and reconciliation are often not covered (with a few exceptions) in mainstream news as there is a perception that they don't draw large audiences and are commercially unviable. This series seeks to understand 1) if this is correct and, if so, 2) how can stories about peacebuilding become more attractive so mainstream news media does put them more on their agenda. The last webinar of the series will be April 3rd, 2024.
